Jane Yolen is an American author who has lived part-time in Scotland for almost 30 years, both in Edinburgh and St Andrews. She is the author of over 370 books most of them for children and teens, and a number of them New York Times bestsellers.
She has won many awards, been named a Grand Master by the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America, as well as Grand Master of Science Fiction Poetry, and also Grand Master by the Fantasy Writers Assn. Her books have won a Caldecott Medal, 2 Nebulas, 3 Mythopoeic Society awards, 2 Christopher Medals, both the Jewish Book Award and the Catholic Library’s Regina Medal. Six colleges & universities have given her honorary doctorates for her body of work.
